Childhood and art are inseparably linked, and awareness of artistic themes, along with the development and stimulation of creative abilities, begins at an early age. The distinctive gaze of children, the wildness of their first strokes, and their experimentation with color and form infuse their works with a creative joy that countless artists have sought to emulate.

Many of these artists have embraced alphabets—considered one of the earliest forms of children’s books—as a medium for their work, understood as a space of creative freedom capable of absorbing diverse graphic styles. From their contributions emerges a strong alliance that closely links the children’s book with the artist’s book.

From Seoane we learn, among many other things, that the medium through which a creator brings their work to life should not be a constraint, but rather an essential amplifier of their creative freedom. Book covers, magazine front pages, murals, or ceramics are just some of the formats the Galician artist used to convey his concerns while showcasing his genius.
